A Stay in a Masseria
During our upcoming visit to Puglia, a highlight will be be a visit to a local masseria (working farm) on the final day in the Region.
Located in the wonderful setting of a property that measures 72 hectares (178 acres) converted in 2004 to an organic farm specializing in olives, Masseria il Frantoio offers the experience of living in a real Apulian farmhouse. Around the manor house, easy walking paths lead to the high ground that shields the farmland from the sirocco, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing stroll, admiring immense stretches of olive trees, a feature of the Salentine landscapes since the 16th century
The Masseria, is just a few minutes' drive from the beaches along the coast. The area's mild climate allows for enjoyment of the Ostuni coast, characterized by natural sand dunes or by the cliffs of the lighthouse of Torre Canne.
We are looking forward to sampling the local cuisine, and experiencing the unique pleasures of the masseria.
